My Campaign Statement
Mensans everywhere share a desire to make connections, find purpose, and use our gifts for the betterment of humanity.
As we continue to recover from the challenges of the pandemic, it’s time for our federation of national Mensas — each with unique cultures, traditions, needs, and attributes — to grow and move forward.
To accomplish this, I envision:
- Connecting more members on a global scale by leveraging leading-edge technology to recruit and retain members and by providing expanded opportunities for interaction and engagement.
- Energizing all volunteers with increased training, support, and appreciation.
- Supporting gifted people and programs.
- Expediting decision-making and implementation.
- Involving members in governance by making policy-crafting more transparent and participatory through increased education, surveying, and live-streaming.
But Mensa needs more than grand visions and strategic plans.
We need specific, practical steps implemented by leaders who actively listen and respond to members.
With decades of experience as a hands-on Mensa leader at the national and international levels, I know how to take those aspirations and turn them into realities.
In the past year alone, I’ve led the News Team’s successful efforts to significantly increase the content on Workplace. Additionally, I’ve worked closely with the Gifted Youth Committee to create graphics and materials.
I’ve also been instrumental behind the scenes to advance several components of the ExComm’s 2023-2024 business plan by
- coordinating with NMs to translate MI’s practice test into multiple languages;
- reviewing current Name & Logo policies, clarifying nuances, and proposing updates;
- gathering and formatting the past ten years’ worth of motions for easy, searchable access; and
- working with the ICO to update the website’s design and organization.
I’d like to continue and expand those projects. It’s time for us to advance.
To do that, Mensa needs an experienced, responsive, creative, and organized Director of Administration, dedicated to improving the value of Mensa for all members.
